It may seem odd that Grammy nominated singer/songwriter Brent Cobb would be releasing a Children’s book at first. I mean, Cobb’s deep southern roots and classic rockstar look don’t exactly scream “kids board book” to me.
But, after talking to the Cobb about Little Stuff, his debut storybook, the project’s fit in Cobb’s creative portfolio makes a whole lotta sense (feeble attempt at a southern-sounding phrase). Brent Cobb is a father and family man first and a thoughtful, soulful country music icon next – a perfect recipe for a tender book that teaches kids to enjoy what is right in front of them.
Brent Cobb talks to me about Little Stuff, touring the world while being a father, and gushes over the talent he sees in his young children here:
While you’re paging through Cobb’s latest masterpiece, take note of the imagery created by Delaney Royer, the trippy creativity of Hannakohl Almire, and, especially, a verse of “Sunset Roses” – a song written by Cobb’s 6 year-old daughter, Lyla (OMG).
If you’re looking for an alternative to Goodnight Moon or Where the Wild Things Are, pick up Brent Cobb’s Little Stuff. It’s a plain-talkin’ celebration of family, nature, and a good reminder that the best things in life are those little moments we share each day.
