I first interviewed Country Music star, Walker Hayes, in November 2021. At that time, Hayes’ Fancy Like was a global internet sensation, spring boarding this father of six into the music industry limelight.
Nearly, eighteen months later, we were able to catch up again – this time to discuss his second, upcoming headlining tour, the Duck Buck Tour, running through Summer 2023.
Our conversation, initially set to span just fifteen minutes, turned into a forty-minute chat about Hayes’ family, his devout faith, the book he and Craig Allen Cooper released in 2022 (Glad You’re Here), and about his version of fatherhood. Oh yeah, and the upcoming tour, too.
Walker Hayes’ star might still be rising, but his ego is not – at least not in our limited time spent together. That humbled sensibility, I gather, comes through in his music and is grounded by his faith in God.
